Corvallis (meaning "heart of the valley" in Latin), is nestled in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley, within 90 minutes of the Portland Metropolitan area, world class skiing, and the spectacular Oregon coast.
There are many excellent bike paths in Corvallis. The small size of the city, combined with its excellent bicycle system and relatively flat terrain, allows almost any trip to be accomplished by bicycle in less than 15 minutes. Approximately 95 percent of the collector and arterial roadways in Corvallis have bike lanes (60 miles) and there are 13 miles of multi-use paths. In addition, a large percentage of the city is laid out on a grid system allowing many alternative routes for cyclists to use in getting from one place to another.
